An exhibit of will be at Rebecca Peterman Photography in Hot Springs presents and exhibition of works by John S. Polk on August 4, 2023 from 5-9pm. The exhibition is part of the Friday Gallery Walk on August 4. John S. Polk was a Hot Springs-based artist who worked primarily in oils, watercolor, and graphite. Although he exhibited talent in his early childhood, it was his participation in local drawing and painting courses as an adult where he fine tuned his artistic skills. When John passed away on March 1, 2020, he left an extensive collection of works across an array of subject matter including architecture, landscapes, pastoral scenes, and portraits of people representing a variety of ethnic and cultural backgrounds. In addition to his creative endeavors, John also taught for more than 30 years in the Hot Springs School District and served as visitation minister at First United Methodist Church of Hot Springs.
